The Wawona

Every community is organised around something. Ours is a six-person tent.

The community was founded at the first Crash and Learn, in Utah, around a single orange six-person tent. It was designated Campsite One that year and has been present at every Crash and Learn since.

The Wawona is not available for lease. It is the anchor structure, and the office of President follows it.

Notice 2026-014 Issued by Management Status: Executed

Notice to Vacate & Relocate Campsite

Following a comprehensive review by Management—and for reasons that Management is neither required nor particularly interested in discussing—the continued occupation of your current campsite has been deemed incompatible with ongoing campground operations.

All trash, personal belongings, and questionable decisions should be removed with you.

Campsite One is now a historic district.

The community was designated Campsite One at the first Crash and Learn and has held the designation at every one since. It began operating under the name Camp Mogadishu last year, following a general increase in rowdiness.

On the evening of 1 September 2026, Management served the occupants of Campsite One with formal notice to vacate. The community relocated in an orderly and professional manner consistent with the exceptionally high standards traditionally associated with individuals attending an EMS conference in the woods.

A subsequent review of resident-collected acoustic data recorded 90 decibels at 0114 hours. The Office of the Mayor has acknowledged that there may have been some legitimacy to the eviction. The Fire Marshal has declined to comment.

Office of the Mayor

Camp Mogadishu is governed by an elected body and one permanent fixture.

CalMayorPermanent. Never stood for election, and the matter has never been raised in a way Management found convincing. Big fan of calcium.
